Introducing Dr. Roger Anderson

Overland Park, KS chiropractor Dr. Roger Anderson

"After being exposed to Chiropractic at an early age, 6 months old in fact, and continuing care throughout my life to present, I thoroughly understand the value of preventative/wellness care and the importance of maintaining the integrity of the nervous system to experience overall health and well being. Since our experience of life is mediated through the nervous system, and the fact that the nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of our body....no one system is more important than the nervous system in maintaining good health."

Dr. Anderson began his pre-chiropractic education at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with the basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. During his four years at Cleveland Chiropractic College, courses include biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Cleveland Chiropractic College Public Clinic.

During his chiropractic college years, he was fortunate enough to meet and personally train/study under a leading Chinese Medical Physician, Dr. Timothy Yeah, learning acupuncture, herbology, and advanced application of Chinese Medicine, further advancing his knowledge and skills in the natural therapeutic arena.

After graduating from Chiropractic College in 1982, Dr. Anderson setup practice in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was there for only one year before having the opportunity to return to the Kansas City area in September of 1983 to take over Dr. Yeh's practice. It has been Dr. Andersons privilege to have had the opportunity to deliver care to over 15,000 patients.

"My attitude is  to do whatever it takes to resolve the individual's specific health care challenges and to help people understand the importance of prevention and a wellness lifestyle." says Dr. Anderson.

On the personal side, Dr. Anderson has raised two stepchildren and has one child of his own who is  pursuing a mechanical engineering degree. He enjoys playing racquetball, exercising regularly, reading, sporting events and living life to it's fullest.

Dr. Anderson Asks some important questions of interest to Overland Park residents - Chiropractor Overland Park Dr. Anderson Asks...

How come medical doctors don't recommend chiropractic?
That's changing. Years of prejudice and bias are giving way to research showing the benefits of chiropractic care. As more and more Overland Park folks seek alternatives to drugs and surgery, more and more medical practitioners are referring their patients to chiropractors.
What are the two things drugs do?
Drugs can either speed up (laxatives, amphetamines, caffeine) a bodily process, or slow down (stomach antacids, sleep aids, antihistamines, muscle relaxers) a bodily process. Chiropractic care can produce the same results, but relies on the intelligence of the body. Chiropractors trust your body. Do you?
