Our Techniques
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.
The primary adjusting techniques we use include:
Activator Methods®
This is a system of spinal evaluation combined with a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust... read more»
Diversified

Advanced Treatments & Diagnostic Methods
Anderson Physical Medicine offers a wide variety of treatment methods, many of which cannot be found elsewhere in the area. In fact, Anderson Physical Medicine is one of the few places in the Kansas City area to offer Pneumex equipment and protocols for rehabilitating spinal and extra-spinal problems.
Sympathetic Treatment System (STS)
We’re proud to announce a new treatment for Chronic Pain Syndromes. STS was just approved by the FDA. STS has been found to be very effective for treating chronic pain even when all other treatments have failed to produce a long-lasting result.
Interferential Electrotherapy
This therapy is used to reduce pain, muscle spasms and inflammation and to increase circulation to speed the healing process.
Ultrasound-Treatment
Think of ultrasound as a form of cellular massage, which results in sedation of irritated nerves and increased blood flow.
Microwave Diathermy
Dia means through and thermy means heat. Diathermy gets the healing heat into deep injured tissues to promote faster healing.
Therastim
This is an advanced type of electrical stimulation that goes deep into tissues to kill pain and increase joint flexibility when used in combination with rehabilitative exercises.
Intersegmental Traction
This treatment helps to increase spinal flexibility by reducing spinal fixations and adhesions.

Axial Traction
This is used to decompress the spine. It is an excellent means of reducing muscle spasms, spinal curvatures and pressure on discs.
Paraspinal Surface Electromyography
The SEMG directly evaluates the function of the spine and shows the need and results of Chiropractic treatment. It measures the electrical activity of specific muscles.
Diagnostic Ultrasound
This is a safe, low cost, non-invasive method of evaluating soft tissues and gives us immediate feedback.
Pulstar Diagnosis and Treatment
We use a device which produces computerized measurements of tissue compliance to accurately record areas of spinal dysfunction and can be used to correct spinal fixations and malfunctions.
Computerized Postural Analysis
Thanks to this system, we can accurately detect improper spinal curvatures and objectively quantify improvement with appropriate treatment.
Diagnostic X-rays

We use X-rays to evaluate vertebral alignment, pathology, etc. Decompression Traction System Therapy Axial decompression traction for the treatment of herniated discs and/or spinal stenosis in the cervical or lumbar spines.
